We finally made it to March. February seemed like it was going to last forever. All of the snow has melted and the brown grass is finally visible. My walks are starting to get a little longer and I can play fetch outside with out having to dig my ball out every time. Before long the birds will be back and the flowers will be out. That is the one good thing about winter. It makes you appreciate the spring all that much more.

If you get a chance check out my club (Daisy's Dance Party) at my other internet site. Lazy Dog has changed the website around so that you can have clubs and post your own events, and pictures. Kind of like My Space but it will be bigger someday. Well at least for imaginative adventurous people. I have posted some music videos on page. Just one at a time though. The first one was Who Let the Dogs Out next was Atomic Dog. Are you seeing the pattern here. I would like to find Salty Dog by Flogging Molly, but I have been unable to find an official video for it.

So we have been back from vacation for about two weeks now and today is the first day that it has been above freezing. This sucks I am going back to Florida. It doesn't get this cold for this long and I am allowed to go to restaurants.

Last time I did not mention all of the friends that I made. Mallory was a really cute Pug that was not quite ready to play with me. And Fang was a really big cat that I had a love hate relationship with. I am sure that one more week and it would have been a love love relationship. These things just take time. The picture above is of Fang. There were also three other cats that did not want anything to do with me. Also there was Peter and Rob. They were in the room above us. They gave me a lot of attention and went shopping with mom. They are Canadians. Whatever that means.

That is all for now. There are a couple of pictures of me on my My Space page.

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Mom has been out of town and Dad has been trying to start his own company. So there has not been much free time. Maybe now I can keep up on this blog thing.

A couple of weeks ago Dad started packing things into that darn box again. I thought that I was off to Grandma's again. We got everything put into the car and then it was my turn to get in. As we were heading out and I was dreading being away from mom and dad for at least a week, I noticed we were going a different direction. Wow someplace new or could I be going along this time?

Just a short time later we were meeting mom. And we all got back in the car. Pretty soon we were in Kentucky. The only other time that I had been out of Ohio was to go to West Virginia. Wow time to mark another state off of the list. Now I know that there are at least three states. Could this be the end of our trip? NO. We kept on driving through the night and the states. Tennessee was next, Georgia took a long time, and when the sun came up we were in Florida!!!!! Wow a long way from home, of course mom and I slept most of the way only waking up to go potty and get a drink or a bite to eat. It is nice when you go to sleep and the temperature is 30 degrees and when you really wake up it is over 70. Oh boy, Florida is great the sun was shining and the sky was blue.

We kept on driving for a few more hours until we could not go any farther. We were surrounded by water. We made it to the end of the road. Key West. It is like paradise for dogs. A couple of days in the sun, stores and restaurants for all of us.

We checked into our guesthouse, The Seascape. Beth , the owner, was great. I had run of the house and the pool, although I never did get in the water. I have never walked so much in my life, well since summer anyway. I went to restaurants. I went to stores. I went to bars. I went to the Southernmost Point in the United States. For a couple of minutes I was the Southernmost dog.

Then unfortunately after a couple of days we had to make the slow trip home. The trip home was slower with stops in Gainesville and Atlanta. Finally we made it home to Ohio were the temperature was 5 when we arrived. Amazing just a couple of days in the 85 degree weather can make 5 seem colder than it really is.

Things I learned along the way:

1. There are more billboards in south Georgia than anywhere else in the world.
2. Truckers in south Georgia must really be relaxed. There are several massage places for them.
3. The land disappears for a long time when you are driving to Key West. About seven miles in one instance.
4. There are a lot of women that sound like men in Key West. They all hang out in front of a building with an 801 on it.
5. Cats and chickens are everywhere in Key West.
6. The people that work in the T-shirt and sandal outlet at MM102 are rude.
7. If you drive 75 on I-75 your a not even keeping up.
8. Atlanta is a big city.
9. Sun is more fun than cold for me.
10. You meet a lot of nice people when traveling.

I have sad news from my world today. A great friend and tescher of mine has passed away.

When I first met Spooner he was already an old man. He was gray around the muzzle and starting to really slow down. He was already more than eight years old and I wasn't even six months old yet. I had a hard time realizes at first the Spooner did not want to play a lot or run if he did not have too. At this point I his life a good day to Spooner was a little it of time out in the sun, playing fetch for a short while and then finding a leg that he could rest his head on while stretched out on the couch.

Spooner's story begins in 1993. He was born on May 7th. He has 5 others in his litter. Just two short months later, my dad and spooner met for the first time. As kind of a present to themselves Dad and his sweetheart at the time Beth decided to get a puppy. Once they got to the farm house and saw the puppies there wasn't any doubt. Beth had picked out the smallest, sickliest looking one in the whole bunch. That all changed the moment they all got in the car to go home. Some people may think that it is a sad day when a puppy leaves the litter to go out into the world with a new mom and dad, but Spooner touched so many people in his life, even people that were not particularly fond of dogs.

Spooner spent that first summer learning how to adjust to life as a growing dog. house breaking was never a problem. That first summer he spent so much time traveling to little league baseball games to see Dad help coach. He was always popular with all of the kids on the team. These were some of the earliest friends that he would make. He became very spoiled that summer as the kids on the team and the siblings would always bring treats for him.

Spooner also learned very early that he liked to torment people, especially Beth's mom. His favorite things to do were to steal her pack of cigarettes or her slippers and walk up to her like he was going to give them back. Just as she would reach for them, he would growl and give them a furious shake. Maybe it was just his way of telling her to stop smoking. One time he also stole half of a chicken off of her plate. It was on the edge of the table and Spooner, being a terrier like me has a natural jumping ability, jumped and took the piece of chicken off of the plate without disturbing anything else and was going hiding bhind the couch before you could even think about catching him.

One of Spooners greatest joys when younger was running. He liked to run circle around the inside of the house, through the dining room, off the couc, another lap under the table and finally end up by running under the couch. One day he decide to take the backing off of the little curtain at the bottom of the couch. It made it easier for him to run under there.

As time goes on so do people and dogs. Dad and Beth had split up. They both still loved Spooner with all there hearts, even though they could be together as a family anymore. Spooner had a crazy couple of years. He was back and forth from house to house several times. He always loved and was always loved no matter who he was with though He finally landed with Grandma, dad's mom. This was in the years that dad was always gone for work. He and Grandma forged a very close relationship. They moved to the country and he had plenty of room to roam around outside. This is were I first met him. I knew right away that we would be friends. Especially if I did not steal his treats He taught me that true hapiness is not always chasing a ball or getting a treat, but that a scratch on the head or belly can be even more pleasing if it comes from the one that you love.

Grandma moved to the city a couple of years ago. Spooner really started to slow. His walks got shorter and slower. The last time that all saw Spooner all he wanted to do was sit with Dad and I, one of us on each side of Dad. There was no competion for his attention as we both knew that he loved both of us and we loved him. I know that we loved each other too.

Spooner died today. Dad was with him when he went. I know that it was sad for him and for me too.

I could find any pictures of Spooner today. I will post some in the near future.

Hey all. This long holiday weekend is just about over. It is time to get back into a normal schedule for a couple of days anyway.

Dad and I had a pretty good day. First it was off to the dog park at sunrise. There were no other dogs there, but plenty of ducks and geese to wake up and chase into the pond. On the way home we made a quick stop at Speedway. Dad even let me have a bite of his beef jerky.

We came home and went to work outside. Raking, pulling dead weeds and starting a fire in the fire pit. The fire was not really needed as it was almost seventy degrees out here. Not bad for Ohio in late November. We played fetch a little while we were outside too.

Then inside for one of the most important parts of the day, Nap time. So after a nice nap and watching the Browns get beat real bad. We made an afternoon trip back to the dog park where this time I got to run with quite a few other dogs.

It all made for a great day. I will be going now as I am about to fall asleep.

Thanksgiving is over. I hope that everyone ate way too much. We had turkey, ham and deer at Grandma's house. I have always tried to catch a deer and I finally got to try it. Anyway after our huge meal yesterday and coupled with all of the attention that I got from the entire family (about 20 people) I was beat. It isn't easy keeping that many people in line. Here is a picture of what I felt like at the end of the day.

Thanks again to Homer for sending me an email last week. Here are his pictures.

Back to the other important stuff though. Everyone around here is excited that Ohio State will be playing in the big game again. Except for Mom she is from West Virginia. Dad and I are trying to figure out who the will play. I hope that it is Hiram College. It would be good to have some terriers play for the national championship. Dad thinks it may be USC though. What do you think?

Have a good weekend. And I hope you recover from Thanksgiving and shopping.

Hello to Homer in Georgia. His pictures are on his dad's website. Check out the address in the comments of the previous post. It looks like he gets to go all kind of neat place with his mom and dad. Plus he looks really cute in a grass skirt.

Mom has been out of town with work again. So, that means that Dad and I have made a big mess of the house until the night before she gets home. That night is always a big rush to get the place looking at least a little respectable. That is not always as easy as it may sound. But, even if we had a maid nothing would pass mom's inspection.

Both Mom and I celebrated birthdays this week. Mom is 29 again and I am five. We both got some presents and we shared a Twinkie. My favorite is the creamy filling.

Don't forget to check out Homer's pictures.
